Now in it's sixth year, Vienna Design Week continued to champion the merits of Austrian creativity with a focus on revealing the process behind producing furniture and objects. While this may have risked alienating the general public at times, it was a lot more interesting for fellow designers attending the festival. The city has a rich history of craft, and it was refreshing to see many of the traditional manufacturers—some that have been family run for generations—embrace young designers by providing opportunities to collaborate on new projects.
